Sonora Rim Fire Folks in Need of Our Help & Support

We don’t have emergencies like this very often but we need help, food, water, and probably additional funds for this fire for the fire people and the displaced residents.
There is a shelter at Sonora fairgrounds which you can get to by Hwy 49 and up from the valley hwy 120. The blockage is at or above the intersection of 49 & 120. American Red Cross is handling the shelter and the District 4A1 Lions are handling the kitchen.
PDG Tom Panhallegon (Sonora Lions) and his club have handled it so far but they will need help cooking and serving. PLEASE do not just show up. CALL PDG Tom (209) 694-5191 or his wife ZC Wendy Dart (209) 406-5015. He will have 3 shifts a day: 7 AM to Noon; Noon to 4 PM; 4 PM to 9 PM.
Per Red Cross, they have food through Sunday already donated for lunch and dinner. Priority is breakfast and dinner so they will probably need breakfast foods. Definitely need cooks and servers. Also need kitchen utensils, but Red Cross is looking into donations. If you plan to cook, might be smart to bring your own utensils.
You will probably have to park away from the fairgrounds as it may be parking for fire equipment.
