When you are out looking at potential homes to purchase, always take photographs of each house. Shoot some video too, for a virtual walk through tour you can come back to.
Exterior to Interior
Be sure to do exteriors, including the home exterior, yard, and other outside features and any concerns.
For the interior, photo and video document all the major rooms.
Write down notes as you go, or talk over the video you do for later referral. Doing both is even better.
