STATE ROUTE 41 HMA REMOVAL AND REPLACEMENT PROJECT SCHEDULED TO BEGIN NEXT WEEK IN MADERA COUNTY

The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) announces the scheduled project to

remove and replace existing asphalt pavement, seal pavement cracks and upgrade existing road signs, at various locations, of a 21-mile stretch of State Route 41 in Madera County.

The following will occur:

  • The rehabilitation project will happen at various locations, starting about two miles north of road 208 and ending just south of Royal Oaks Drive in Oakhurst.
  • The project is scheduled to last 40 working days.
  • Depending on location, work will begin either at 10:00 or 11:00 p.m. and go until 6:00 or 7:00 a.m., starting this Sunday night, September 19th.
  • One-way traffic control will be in place during construction hours.
  • Motorists can expect up to 10-minute delays.

Closures may continue for longer periods of time if necessary, due to delays caused by weather or uncontrollable events that may occur.

Caltrans reminds you to drive with extra care and allow additional time while travelling near construction zones. Please be alert for construction personnel and remember to “Slow for the Cone Zone.”
