The local Met Cinema in Oakhurst recently had to close its doors. Here is some information regarding the efforts to reopen.
Your movie theater is about to go away but you can save it!
As of November 1st, the local movie theater in town (The Met Cinema) shut down, closing its doors. Three local young men have put together a plan to save it and re-open those doors by changing the theater to a membership model, but they need people to join them by becoming members. Members of the theater pay a low monthly rate 19.95 per individual or 34.95 per couple and get to watch every movie that comes to the theater at no additional charge.
This is a month to month plan and can be canceled or changed at anytime. They need 3000 people to become members by December 31st and are already halfway there. No one will be charged unless they succeed at opening the doors, but they need people to sign up to prove the model to the landlords and are running out of time.
We know you spend some time in this area and may value having a theater in town. We wanted to let you know about what was happening before the theater disappears so you can choose to become a member and help it reopen.
