Yosemite Half Marathon to Take Place Around Bass Lake on October 8th

BASS LAKE, CA, September 21, 2016

Vacation Races, an event company that produces half marathon races centered around breathtaking National Parks and Forest Service Lands, will be holding its Inaugural Yosemite Half Marathon around Bass Lake on October 8th.

The event will take place from 7:15 am to 10:30 am. During these hours there will be 2500 runners starting on 6S40 off Sky Ranch Rd and then coming down Beasore Rd and crossing onto Hwy 274 from Beasore Rd to The Pines. The road will be closed. If needed, please use the detour around to North Fork in order to get to Oakhurst.

North Shore Rd will be open but will have heavy runner traffic from The Pines to Recreation Point Campground. Traffic will continue to operate, but drivers should expect heavy delays.

If at all possible, please avoid vehicular traffic during these hours.

The event coordinators would like to express their apology for any inconvenience this may cause residents. “We are so grateful to the communities that allow us to put on these events. Without their cooperation it just wouldn’t be possible,” said Director of Race Operations Lyle Anderson.

“The town of Bass Lake has been so helpful and supportive, we really appreciate being allowed to run in their community. We’re sorry for any temporary inconvenience our event causes.”

Vacation Races operates this activity under a U.S. Forest Service special use permit with the Sierra National Forest.

If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the race production company.
