Hello Partners,

Happy Spring / Winter / Spring / Winter / Spring . . .

. . . my flowers just don’t know what to do!  Here are a few updates :

YOSEMITE

Peak-Hours Plus Reservations Tips!

  • There are still lots of reservations available for the summer – the best way to book is online at https://www.recreation.gov/timed-entry/10086745.
  • The Recreation.gov App is still having problems so please make sure you are promoting the website version instead of the App!
  • If days are sold out (indicated on recreation.gov with “NR”) remember that 7 days before arrival, Yosemite releases about 40% of the reservations both Full Day and Half Day.  Guests must be online by 8:00 am sharp and be signed on to their account.    Example:  if you are arriving Saturday May 4th, more tickets will be released Saturday April 27th at 8:00 am Pacific Time.
  • If Full Day passes are sold out, please make sure try the Half Day Passes link.

Other Reservation Items

  • I’ve attached the Peak-Hours Plus Poster for your usage – if you’d like for us to print some for you, please email Kelly at admin@yosemitethisyear.com.
  • Also attached is the 2024 Information Sheet for reservations and what to do if you don’t get them.  We have these printed and available for everyone at the visitor center.  We insert these in all our visitor guides to make sure everyone has more info.
  • Mid Week Deals –

Reservation Social Media to Share on Your Channels PLEASE!!

There is a LOT of misconceptions out there about Yosemite being sold out and reservations hard to get….so we had our TikTok guru Jenna create two videos – one mostly information and the other is a great “How To” video, please feel free to share everywhere!!  We need to get the word out that there are reservations available!

YARTS

  • Highway 41 runs May 10 through September 10 – see attached schedule.
  • Visitors can ride YARTS without a Yosemite reservation.
  • Remember:  YARTS is not a “hop on, hop off” bus.  If passengers want to go Oakhurst to Yosemite Valley but stop and explore Mariposa Grove…they will need a ticket for Oakhurst to Mariposa Grove and  Mariposa Grove to Yosemite Valley….and remember to have them book a return ticket since we only have 2 busses per day on our Highway 41 corridor.

TROLLEY AND OAKHURST ART & WINE HOP

The Oakhurst Trolley starts its official 2024 season on May 10th  – Friday & Saturday 11:30 am to 9:30 pm & Sunday 11:30 am to 8:30 pm.  Go to https://www.yosemitethisyear.com/oakhurst-trolley  for the more information and a list of scheduled stops.  Remember it takes about 1 hour for the Trolley to do the full Oakhurst loop.  This year we are adding a Tracker System so you know where the Trolley is.  The brochure has a QR code for the tracking website and as soon as the tracking App is live, we will put it on the website.  For those of you on the Trolley Stop brochure, we will be coming by this week with tokens, brochures and table tents for your business.  If you’d like brochure (and/or tokens) but are not one of the stops, please let us know and we’ll get them to you asap.

Oakhurst Art & Wine Hop is new this year and will be on the 3rd Thursday of each month (May thru October) from 5 to 8 pm.  The Trolley will make stops at each of the Art Hop locations as well as pick up from the local hotels.  Check out www.oakhurstarthop.com for more information.

WELCOMING COMMITTEE – Trading Cards

Our “wild bunch” is back again this year with their Yosemite Adventure Contest plus have added a prize for collecting all 10 cards – collectors receive the stuffed animal collection (see photo below of the Milhous Family).  Visitors who collect all 10 cards can stop by the visitor center to get their prize (and to be entered into the year end drawing) or they can follow the instructions and email or text me a photo of the cards and we will send their collection to them.  You can find all the Welcoming Committee information including Trading Card locations, contest details, and videos at https://www.yosemitethisyear.com/welcoming-committee
